Support Services

The Centre provides access to support services in an effort to enhance the wellbeing of individuals, families and our community. These services are designed to give clients the understanding and guidance they need to make positive and healthy choices. Our team works to provide the support required so individuals can act on their own needs.

Emergency Baby Cupboard

Parents in need can access diaper and formula vouchers once a month. The vouchers are dispensed through the social services walk-in, weekdays from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

The Bill Goodwin Toy Lending Library

Parents and caregivers can borrow educational toys, books, and parenting resources. Check our calendar for drop-in dates.

Social Support Walk-in

Counsellors provide support when urgent personal or social problems happen. We also provide clients with referrals to various programs to help assist low-income individuals and families.

Physical Activity Lending Library

Community members can borrow urban-walking poles, pedometres, yoga mats, DVDs, cassettes, video, and books for up to two weeks.

Community Laundry Co-op

The Co-op provides accessible, affordable, environmentally friendly laundry services. Self-service laundry services are available to members at the cost of for 1$ per load. Members also provide commercial laundry services for clients in the community. Visit their website for more information.

Ottawa Good Food Box

This is a city-wide program coordinated by our centre. Customers can purchase a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables at wholesale prices by placing monthly orders. The box is available in 3 sizes: $10, $15, and $20. Emphasis is placed on buying seasonal produce that’s grown as close to home as possible. Voicemail Program

Many people use voicemail to stay in contact with friends, family, or to look for a job or a place to live. Even if you don’t have a phone, you can obtain a personal voicemail number at a low cost of 20$ for three months of service. Drop in anytime between 9:00 am – 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Legal Advice Drop-in Clinic

Access to free expert legal advice in English. This service provided in partnership with the University of Ottawa offers a drop-in clinic for people with low-income. Service is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Check our calendar for dates.
