Pregnancy Circle

Pregnant women come together with a public health nurse to learn about pregnancy, giving birth, breastfeeding, baby care, parenting and community resources. Presented in partnership with Ottawa Public Health. Check our calendar for dates and registration details. Registration is required.

Buns in the Oven: Prenatal Nutrition Program

Expecting parents get together with other parents and our team that includes a nurse, early childhood educator, health promoter, and dietitian to prepare healthy snacks and meals. It’s a great opportunity to receive support and learn about parenting, nutrition, breastfeeding, and healthy pregnancies.

Make Your Own Baby Food

Parents get together to learn how to make nutritious baby food from affordable and readily available ingredients. Our dietitian and nurse provide information on what foods to feed babies and when to start solid foods. Check our calendar for dates and registration details. Registration is required.

Well-baby and Breastfeeding Support Drop-in

Our nurse, lactation consultant, and health promoter are there to provide breastfeeding support and to answer parents’ questions about their baby’s health. Check our calendar for drop-in dates and further details.

Parent and Child Drop-in

Families with young children six years old and under can enjoy a drop-in a playgroup that offers early learning activities. These include arts and crafts, stories and songs, fun games, sensory play, and much more. Check our calendar for drop-in details and times.

Early Learning and Health Drop-in

Families come together weekly to develop useful skills to help their children ages two to five get ready for school. This program is offered in partnership with Ontario Early Years Centre and MotherCraft. Check our calendar for location details and contact information.

Family Home Visiting Services

Families receive one-on-one parenting support and information about healthy childhood development and positive parenting skills. Services are delivered in families’ homes or in other locations in the community based on the clients’ preference. Registration is required. Call our Centre to book an appointment.

Parenting Education Programs

Coping with stress

All are invited to learn breathing, gentle yoga, meditation and mindfulness practices to help relax the body and quiet the mind. Check our calendar for dates for Meditation and Movement or Coping with Stress programs.

Free Dental Screening Drop-in

People of all ages can access free dental screenings services including dental health information, fluoride varnish applications, and Healthy Smiles Ontario enrolment. Check our calendar for dates. Drop-in services are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cooking Workshops

Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions

Lifestyle Enrichment for Senior Adults (LESA): Substance abuse and gambling services
