Our medical clinic is staffed with a highly skilled interdisciplinary team so that family physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, outreach workers, social workers, dietitians, and others can collaborate to provide medical services to registered clients. Working together, this team responds to the factors that impact the health and wellbeing of clients. They ensure that clients receive the best possible care.
Obstetrical Care

Social Support Walk-in
Counselors provide support when urgent personal or social problems happen. We also provide clients with referrals to various programs to help assist low-income individuals and families.
Nutrition Counselling
Individuals can meet with a dietitian to talk about nutrition issues like food budgeting, body image, weight management, and children’s nutrition. Discover how to feel good and stay healthy. Call our Centre to book an appointment.
Home Management Counselling
Individuals learn how to establish a housekeeping routine, develop a budget, manage your time, and solve household problems. Call our Centre to book an appointment.
Individual, Couple, and Group Counselling
We offer individual, couple and group counselling for those dealing with personal, emotional, or mental health issues. Services are offered at our Centre, in our community, and in clients’ homes. They are available to residents of Old Ottawa South, the Glebe, and Centretown.
Pregnancy Circle
Pregnant women come together with a public health nurse to learn about pregnancy, giving birth, breastfeeding, baby care, parenting, and community resources. Presented in partnership with Ottawa Public Health. Check our calendar for dates and registration details. Registration is required.
Options Counselling
Pregnant? Non-judgmental counselors help you explore options in an open and caring environment. Call our Centre to make an appointment. Available to anyone.
Buns in the Oven: Prenatal Nutrition Program
Expecting parents get together with other parents and our team that includes a nurse, early childhood educator, health promoter, and dietitian to prepare healthy snacks and meals. It’s a great opportunity to receive support and learn about parenting, nutrition, breastfeeding, and healthy pregnancies.
Make Your Own Baby Food
Parents get together to learn how to make nutritious baby food from affordable and readily available ingredients. Our dietitian and nurse provide information on what foods to feed babies and when to start solid foods. Check our calendar for dates and registration details. Registration is required.
Well-baby and Breastfeeding Support Drop-in
Our nurse, lactation consultant, and health promoter are there to provide breastfeeding support and to answer parents’ questions about their baby’s health. Check our calendar for drop-in dates and further details.
Parent and Child Drop-in
Families with young children six years old and under can enjoy a drop-in a playgroup that offers early learning activities. These include arts and crafts, stories and songs, fun games, sensory play, and much more. Check our calendar for drop-in details and times.
Family Home Visiting Services
Families receive one-on-one parenting support and information about healthy childhood development and positive parenting skills. Services are delivered in families’ homes or in other locations in the community based on the clients’ preference. Registration is required. Call our Centre to book an appointment.
Parenting Education Programs

Free Dental Screening Drop-in
People of all ages can access free dental screenings services including dental health information, fluoride varnish applications, and Healthy Smiles Ontario enrolment. Check our calendar for dates. Drop-in services are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Cooking Workshops

Active Living and Fitness Programs

Emergency Baby Cupboard
Parents in need can access diaper and formula vouchers once a month. The vouchers are dispensed through the social services walk-in, weekdays from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
The Bill Goodwin Toy Lending Library
Parents and caregivers can borrow educational toys, books, and parenting resources. Check our calendar for drop-in dates.
Physical Activity Lending Library
Community members can borrow urban-walking poles, pedometres, yoga mats, DVDs, cassettes, video, and books for up to two weeks.
Community Laundry Co-op
The Co-op provides accessible, affordable, environmentally friendly laundry services. Self-service laundry services are available to members at the cost of for 1$ per load. Members also provide commercial laundry services for clients in the community. Visit their website for more information.
Ottawa Good Food Box
This is a city-wide program coordinated by our centre. Customers can purchase a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables at wholesale prices by placing monthly orders. The box is available in 3 sizes: $10, $15, and $20. Emphasis is placed on buying seasonal produce that’s grown as close to home as possible. Legal Advice Drop-in Clinic
Access to free expert legal advice in English. This service provided in partnership with the University of Ottawa offers a drop-in clinic for people with low-income. Service is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Check our calendar for dates.
