Our medical clinic is staffed with a highly skilled interdisciplinary team so that family physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, outreach workers, social workers, dietitians and others can collaborate to provide medical services to registered clients. Working together, this team responds to the factors that impact the health and wellbeing of clients. They ensure that clients receive the best possible care.

Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions 

Six week series. Learn ways to manage the daily tasks to live well with one or more chronic conditions. Register online and check our calendar for program descriptions, dates, and registration details. Registration is required.

Coping with stress

All are invited to learn breathing, gentle yoga, meditation and mindfulness practices to help relax the body and quiet the mind. Check our calendar for dates for Meditation and Movement or Coping with Stress programs.

Diabetes Education Program

Specialized nurse and dietitian educators provide information and support to adults with diabetes. Individuals wanting services can be seen in their community in the language of their choice. Visit their website for more information.

Social Support Walk-in

Counselors provide support when urgent personal or social problems happen. We also provide clients with referrals to various programs to help assist low-income individuals and families.

Individual, Couple, and Group Counselling

We offer individual, couple and group counselling for those dealing with personal, emotional, or mental health issues. Services are offered at our Centre, in our community, and in clients’ homes. They are available to residents of Old Ottawa South, the Glebe, and Centretown.

Nutrition Counselling

Individuals can meet with a dietitian to talk about nutrition issues like food budgeting, body image, weight management and children’s nutrition. Discover how to feel good and stay healthy. Call our Centre to book an appointment.

Home Management Counselling

Individuals learn how to establish a housekeeping routine, develop a budget, manage your time, and solve household problems. Call our Centre to book an appointment.

Lifestyle Enrichment for Senior Adults (LESA): Substance abuse and gambling services

This free and confidential program is geared to men and women 55+ in the city of Ottawa. Counselors can meet participants in their home, in one of our satellite offices or at the Centre. Visit the LESA page for more information.

Free Dental Screening Drop-in

People of all ages can access free dental screenings services including dental health information, fluoride varnish applications, and Healthy Smiles Ontario enrolment. Check our calendar for dates. Drop-in services are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cooking Workshops

All are invited to learn new recipes and culinary techniques. Check our calendar for workshop descriptions, dates and registration details. Registration is required.

Active Living and Fitness Programs

All are invited to join us for our exciting physical activity programming. Check our calendar for program descriptions, dates, and registration details. Registration is required.

Physical Activity Lending Library

Community members can borrow urban-walking poles, pedometres, yoga mats, DVDs, cassettes, video, and books for up to two weeks.

Community Laundry Co-op

The Co-op provides accessible, affordable, environmentally friendly laundry services. Self-service laundry services are available to members at the cost of for 1$ per load. Members also provide commercial laundry services for clients in the community. Visit their website for more information.

Ottawa Good Food Box

This is a city-wide program coordinated by our centre. Customers can purchase a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables at wholesale prices by placing monthly orders. The box is available in 3 sizes: $10, $15, and $20. Emphasis is placed on buying seasonal produce that’s grown as close to home as possible.  Visit their website to order your box and for more information.

Legal Advice Drop-in Clinic

Access to free expert legal advice in English. This service provided in partnership with the University of Ottawa offers a drop-in clinic for people with low-income. Service is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Check our calendar for dates.

Taking LGBT Aging Out of the Closet: Creating community as we age

Our Centre is an active supporter of the Ottawa Senior Pride Network. This diverse group works to ensure safe and LGBT-friendly services and residential environments are available for queer seniors in our community. SAGE

Women over 40 years of age who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender are invited to participate in educational and social events. This program is a part of the Pink Triangle Services. Check our calendar for upcoming events taking place in our community.

Rainbow Coffee Group

Older adults (55+) and adults with physical disabilities who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender are invited to join this downtown coffee group.
