Good Food Box Cleaner
Purpose: As a member of the Ottawa Good Food Box team of volunteers,
the Good Food Box Cleaner maintains and cleans Good Food Boxes once a
month for delivery to neighborhood sites.
- Sort, wash and dry Good Food Boxes.
- Assist with warehouse set-up and clean-up.
- Able to commit 4-5 hours per month
- Comfortable working as part of a team of volunteers in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable
- Physically able to bend and do light lifting (10-15 lbs) for 4-5 hours
- General interest in food, health and community is an asset
- Get a tasty snack
- Be a leader in this positive community-building project
- Get to know other people in your community
- Enjoy knowing that in a practical way, you are supporting
the belief that everyone should have equal access to nutritious food
- Help people find an alternative to food banks
- Develop new skills. Use the Good Food Box as a job reference
- On-going training and workshops
- Annual volunteer recognition event
Timeframe: The Third Tuesday morning each month (9:00 am to 1:00 pm)
Site: wharehouse
Supervision: Good Food Box cleaners report to the Program Coordinator.
