Board Recruitment 2019

Board Recruitment (2019)

Join our Board of Directors!

We are seeking candidates from diverse backgrounds that reflect populations in our community for the Centretown Community Health Centre (CCHC) volunteer Board of Directors. The information below provides an overview, which may help you or someone you know choose to stand for election to the Board at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. Go to the Board FAQ  for more details about the Board and how it functions.

CCHC is committed to the health and well‑being of all people within the communities we serve. We provide a full range of health and social services to individuals and families who live in Centretown, the Glebe and Old Ottawa South. We pay particular attention to people who face barriers in attaining their full health potential, including:  LGBTQ2S+ people; people living with mental health challenges; people dealing with addiction; people who are homeless; frail and isolated seniors; families with low income; racialized people; francophones; First Nations, Métis and Inuit people; and newcomers to Canada. We also offer specialized services to all residents of the broader Ottawa region such as counselling for LGBTQI2S+ youth, addiction services for older adults, chronic disease management for people with diabetes, as well as a food security program.

A Glimpse at the Work Involved

The Board provides leadership and operates on a policy and strategic level rather than from an operational or management focus. With this orientation, the Board creates the vision and goals for the organization, sets strategic directions and ensures that the goals of the organization are met. Board members serve two-year terms. Typically, this involves a commitment of six to ten hours per month.

If you are interested in running for a position on the CCHC Board, you will be asked to complete an online application by noon, Thursday, May 30, 2019. Printed copies of the application will be available. For more information, or to obtain this application in accessible format, please contact Alison at 613-233-4443 ext 2106.

Yours sincerely,

Sacha Baharmand, President
Board of Directors
